The Ministry of Health has a process for people travelling overseas to request a letter confirming they had a COVID-19 vaccination. The Ministry is prioritising requests based on the date of travel and has updated its website to reflect the process. Please note that a GP document may be insufficient proof of vaccination for some countries.
If a person would like written confirmation of their vaccination for a reason other than overseas travel, the simplest approach is to give them a copy of the vaccination notification sent from the COVID-19 Immunisation Register (CIR) to the practice’s patient management system.
GPs could also direct the person to download their vaccination confirmation via the practice’s patient portal, if that is available to them.
Please visit the MOH website for more information.
